Fishing Near Pedder Bay
The waters around Pedder Bay offer opportunities to fish for several popular West Coast species, depending on the season and current regulations. Anglers may target:

Bring Your Own Boat
Pedder Bay Marina has a three-lane boat launch that provides convenient access to the water. Launch use includes parking, making it easy to arrive, prepare your boat and begin your fishing trip from one location.
Marine gasoline is available at the fuel dock, and frozen bait, tackle and other fishing essentials are available onsite. Fish-cleaning facilities are also available when you return.
Before leaving, review the weather, tides and marine forecast, and make sure your vessel carries all required safety equipment.
Rent a Boat
You do not need to own a boat to experience fishing at Pedder Bay. Our rental fleet includes 16- and 17-foot fibreglass runabouts suitable for fishing or exploring the surrounding waters.
Boat rentals include essential equipment such as life jackets, a net, rod holders, a fish tub and a local map. Fishing rods, tackle boxes, downriggers and crab traps are also available to rent.
A Pleasure Craft Operator Card is not required for a Pedder Bay rental because eligible renters complete the required safety process and receive a temporary day permit. Renters must be at least 19 years old and provide valid photo identification and a credit card.
Boat rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are dependent on weather, visibility and operating conditions. Contact the marina before your visit to confirm current availability and requirements.
Book a Guided Fishing Charter
A guided fishing charter is a good option for visitors who are new to the area, do not have their own equipment or would prefer to head out with an experienced local captain.
Private charter operators depart from Pedder Bay Marina and offer local knowledge, professional equipment and guidance throughout the trip. Charter availability, trip length and pricing vary by operator, so advance reservations are recommended.
