Pedder Bay Marina proudly maintains the largest and most affordable fleet of boat rentals on Vancouver Island. Whether you are after that prize fish or just want to explore, a day on one of our rental boats is the perfect way to unwind. Choose from 17′ Hourstons or Double Eagle watercraft—both comfortable and easy to maneuver. Pedder Bay is minutes from fantastic salmon, halibut, and bottom fishing, and we’ve got everything you’ll need for your trip right here. If you would prefer to take in the sights, take a trip filled with breathtaking scenery with the possibility of encountering whales, bald eagles, otters, porpoises, and colonies of enormous sea lions in their natural habitat. Before you set out on your fishing or sightseeing trip, we will review a detailed boat safety checklist.

Note: You do not need a Pleasure Craft Operator’s Card to rent a boat at Pedder Bay, as a day permit will be issued to you.

First Come – First Served, based on weather/fog conditions.

*Renter must be at least 19 years of age, provide a photo ID and supply a valid credit card for deposit.

OUR BOATS

17′ Fibreglass Hourston Runabouts

• 50 hp 4-stroke electric start, ½ canvas top, windshield, steering and controls up front, emergency kit, paddles
• Rental includes net, rod holders, gaff, vest-style life jackets, fish tub and map

16′ Fibreglass Double Eagle Runabouts

• 50 hp 4-stroke electric start, ½ canvas top, windshield, steering wheel and controls up front, emergency kit, paddles
• Rental includes net, rod holders, gaff, vest-style life jackets, fish tub, compass and map

GEAR RENTAL

Tackle box with rod & reel rental is available for $15.00/trip.
Downrigger rental $10.00/trip.
Crab Trap Rental $15/trip.

Any rental equipment that is lost or damaged is charged upon return from the trip. Insurance does not cover gear rentals.

BOAT RENTAL RATES

• 17′ Fibreglass Hourston up to 4 people, 2-hour minimum rental: $50/hr
• 16′ Fibreglass Double Eagle up to 6 people, 2-hour minimum rental: $50/hr

Minimum two-hour boat rental. Fuel is charged on a per-use basis — insurance and taxes are extra. Open 7 days a week, however, availability is weather dependent.

INSURANCE

Damage protection insurance is recommended for the boat and motor. It is the responsibility of the renter to ensure the proper care of the vessel and that the guidelines set out are followed correctly.
